Numbers, not adjectives

A motor, a hinge and a padded boot.

That’s all Glide Ankle is. Here’s what it adds up to.

Motion
Toes up, toes down

The foot plate pivots at the ankle — up towards the shin, then down and away — while the calf rests in the boot. One key sets how far it goes.

Positions
Sit or lie back

A large wing nut sets the frame upright for a chair or laid back for the floor. A smaller one sets the angle.

Weight
6.5kg

Light enough to carry to the sofa. Anti-slip feet keep it where you put it.

Footprint
48 × 17 cm

27 cm tall. Tucks beside a chair.

Controls
5keys

On a wired remote with large, labelled buttons. Auto runs it for you; the arrow keys move it by hand. No app, nothing to charge.

Comfort
4straps

Two padded straps over the foot, two over the calf, all removable. A heel cup, and a perforated boot lining that lets the leg breathe.

How it moves

You set the range. Glide Ankle does the moving.

Choose how far the foot tilts. Press Auto, and the foot plate carries the foot up towards the shin and back down again — the same smooth path, over and over, until you pause it.

Small to start

Begin with a narrow range. Widen it a step at a time, only as far as feels comfortable.

Even, not sudden

The motor does the work at a steady pace. Your foot just rests on the plate.

It stops where you say

Pause holds it where it is. Up and Down nudge it one way or the other, so getting your foot in and out is easy.

Five keys

Nothing to learn, nothing to pair.

No app, no Bluetooth, no account. The remote is wired to the machine, so it can’t wander off down the side of the chair.

Auto
Runs the cycle — toes up, toes down, repeat.
Angle
Sets how far the foot tilts — start small, widen it as it gets easy.
Up · Down
Move the foot plate one way or the other by hand. Handy for getting your foot in and out.
Pause
Stops it where it is.
Your first session

Two wing nuts to set up. Then four steps, every time.

Watch the whole thing once — it takes less than a minute.

Two over the foot, two over the calf. Snug enough that the foot moves with the plate — never tight.

What Glide Ankle can do, and what it can’t.

Glide Ankle moves an ankle through a range you choose, without asking anything of the muscles around it. That’s the whole job, and it does it every day without complaint.

What it won’t do is strengthen a leg — that takes your own effort — or replace anything a doctor or physio has asked of you. Alongside that, it makes moving the ankle one less thing to work up to.

First sessionSmallest range, ten minutes. Notice how the top of the tilt feels.
Week 1Make it a fixture — the same chair, the same time each day, with the news or a podcast.
Weeks 2–4Widen the range a step when the current one feels easy. Never into pain.
The honest bitIf a month in it hasn’t earned its place in your day, it isn’t going to. Send it back.

Questions

The things people ask before buying

Left foot or right?

Each Glide Ankle is built for one side, so choose the foot you’ll use it on when you order. If you’re not sure — or might need both — email us before ordering and we’ll talk it through.

Is Glide Ankle medical equipment?

No. Glide Ankle is a wellness and mobility product for keeping an ankle moving at home. It isn’t certified as medical equipment and doesn’t claim to treat anything. If a clinician has prescribed equipment for you, follow their advice on what to use.

Can I use it after ankle surgery?

Yes — Glide Ankle is made for rehabilitation after ankle surgery. Once your surgeon or physio says it’s time to start moving the joint, it does the moving for you through a range you set, so you can start small and build up as they advise.

How long is a session?

Start with ten minutes at a small range and see how the ankle feels afterwards. Most people settle on a session or two a day around something they already do — the news, a podcast, a chapter. It should never push into pain: if it does, pause, and narrow the range.

Can I use it lying down?

Yes. The large wing nut lays the frame back so the boot sits low on the floor and you can lie with the leg straight. For a chair, set it upright. A firm surface works best — on a soft mattress the frame can rock as it moves.

Can I sleep with it running?

No. Use it awake, in sessions — start with ten minutes — and switch it off and unstrap between them. If you nod off, nothing is watching how the foot sits on the plate.

Will it fit my foot?

The heel cup, padded boot and four straps adjust to most adult feet and calves. We haven’t printed a shoe-size range because we haven’t been given one we’d stand behind yet. If it doesn’t fit you comfortably, that’s what the thirty days are for.

Is it noisy?

It’s motor-driven, so you’ll hear it working. We’re measuring it properly, and this answer will get a real number.

What voltage does it run on?

It runs on the household power where you live — in the US and Canada as well as in Australia and New Zealand — and comes with the plug that matches your delivery address. It runs from an ordinary wall socket: no batteries, nothing to charge.

Can I clean it?

The straps come off. The boot lining wipes clean — keep water away from the frame and the motor.

Is there anyone who shouldn’t use it?

It isn’t for children. Don’t use it on a fresh injury, an ankle that’s hot, red or badly swollen, a recent sprain or fracture or an unhealed wound, or if a clinician has told you to keep the joint still. If you’ve had foot or ankle surgery, have a history of blood clots, have diabetes that affects your feet, or have reduced feeling in the foot, ask your doctor first. Check your skin where the straps press, and stop if the foot goes numb or tingles, the calf aches, or anything hurts — Glide Ankle should only ever move the ankle through a range that feels comfortable.

What’s the guarantee?

Thirty days, money-back: use it properly for a month and, if it isn’t for you, send it back for a full refund — you just cover the return shipping. Every Glide Ankle also carries a 1-year warranty, and shipping is free.
